i am extremely privileged in having a full time staff at kingchrrie headquarters. this page is dedicated to those i couldn’t do it without:

meet the team

ziggy

(short for zig zag, because she does.)

Ziggy is the newest addition to the team, she’s been with us for almost two years now! We are so grateful for the important work she does around the studio, including stealing (her favourite victim being needle felting wool) and testing (scratching) canvases.

She also has an acute sense for when I am focused, and makes sure to demand I take breaks to play with her, usually just as I’m arriving in my element. This is truly an exceptional trait of hers, as she has cerebellar hypoplasia (known as wobbly cat syndrome) and usually lacks awareness in most fields.

She walks like a drunken sailor on stormy waters.

Her favourite food is popcorn, her arch nemesis is sparkly water, and she loves to wear sweaters.

layla

Layla is my co-conspirator. She is seven years old, and has seen me grappling with every piece of art I’ve made since and before pursuing this career. She held a key role in the formation of the whole enterprise of my artistry. All major decisions are run by her, and she is in charge of quality control. She is a harsh critic, but a necessary bit of cynicism to ground me.

She is very conscious of work in progress, and has never stepped in a painting or palette, even when trapezing my desk to acquire pets.

Layla’s favourite food is grass, her arch nemesis is every other cat but Ziggy (& the jury’s still out there) and she loves to sit on the end of my mat while I paint outside.
